Over the past two weeks his rival John Macain has tactically employed and displayed exceptional skill , generally reserved for the likes of Karl Rove and Ed Rollins, to chip away Obama's dominance of the subject. And he has done it like a wounded soldier, kicking doors in pursuit of vengeance against his foes in combat.
When asked about his pick for running mate he made it clear that he was hoping and waiting for Obama to sidestep Hillary Clinton for a male counterpart.
.. To Macain it would be hard for political scientists to understand the logic hehind Obama's refusal to graft Hillary, as a symbol, into a germination process which was pullulating with enthusiastic feminine entourage unprecedentedly buoyed by pride and relief that their generation may witness answers to their supplications, at last, a feminine champion at the helms of power. To many that symbolism outweighed substance and , certainly, ideology under which their concerns have been buried or carved into inextricable submission by male dominance.
When speculations built around his pick, it became justifiably obvious that Joe Liberman, a pseudo-liberal turned independent, would be his pick. After all, Joe had dined and wined with John on many occassions, been consulted on issues needed to draw compromises to heated legislative debates, travelled together on fact finding missions, and campaigned for one another at troubling times. Thus when the exercise of choice for a running mate fell upon his conscience none seemed more suitable than Joe Liberman. But Joe was bypassed. John Macain chose a little known governor of a state outside the mainland with apparent presumption that the horizon of harsh media scrutiny is limited to the shores of the forty eight states .
With McCain's age approaching three quarters of a century critics quickly began to question his exercise of judgement over the choice of Sarah Palin as a heir apparent to a bequeathed rein of power mangled with serious domestic and foreign problems.
To his political opponents she is an inexperienced, overburdened woman with insufficient credentials to tackle the serious challenges and rigors of presidency should Macain decide to hand over reins before his term ends.
To the chagrin of his right-wing enthusiasts, the choice of a woman, hastily drawn from obscurity to spearhead a Republican establishment long percieved as men's club, was a daring deviation or absurdity grafted onto an otherwise coherent body of thought in a right-wing arena replete with qualified males in the molds of Romney, Guliani, Hackabee,Tom Ridge, inter alia.
But Sarah Palin was an exception. She as a person is charming and vociferous. She would be used as a replacement to ferment nostalgia and erupt a latent volcanic feminine displeasure over rejection of an admirable symbol, a much needed remedy to curb the seemingly unstoppable surge of Obama's popularity.
She delivered a powerful speech at the convention and followed it with series of introductory appearances aimed at attacking the eloquence and poignancy of Obama's speech in Denver.
The tactics temporarily worked. Approval numbers went high even though people didnt know what they were approving for or against untill the delirium settled into realms of realities.
.. Quibus rebus cognitis, the campaign began to grow nervous as calls for diagnosis surfaced. American people usually want to know what the candidates stand for. Obama went thru it like fire. People are now beginning to ask "Who is this woman ?" ......... TO BE CONTINUED IN NEXT EDITION
